RBI celebrates golden jubilee in JK

Jammu, Dec 22: Reserve Bank of India celebrated Golden Jubilee of opening of its office in Jammu and Kashmir at a glittering function at Police Auditorium, here.
 Chief Secretary Madhav Lal, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chief General Manager-in-Charge, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai Sandip Ghose, presided over the function.
 The CS congratulated the Bank on its Golden Jubilee celebrations and said that RBI has encouraged establishment of financial institutions for the development of state’s economy and has effectively performed its role as an apex monitoring institution to guide, help and direct other commercial banks in the state.
 Sandip Ghose in his remarks said that opening of the RBI office in J&K in 1962 was a significant event in the economic development of this State.
