Appointment of new CS put on hold

Jammu, Feb 11: Jammu and Kashmir government has put the process for appointment of new Chief Secretary on hold and asked the present incumbent Madhav Lal, who has been recently transferred to Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, has been asked to continue till the situation improves in Valley.
Official sources revealed that Lal was keen to hand over the charge and proceed for his new place of positing. However, the state government asked him to stay back till it was able to appoint new CS, sources said.
As already reported the state government was expected to take a final decision in this regard in the cabinet meeting, which was scheduled for today. However, the meeting was postponed, late last night, due to the prevailing situation in Valley.
