Omar directs ministers to stay at dist headquarters

Separatists instigating violence: Kamaal

ABID BASHIR

Srinagar Feb 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday directed all ministers to remain present at their district headquarters to monitor the situation closely.
Omar also asked police and paramilitary forces to exercise maximum restraint and not to open fire on protestors.  The decision was taken in a series of review meetings chaired by Omar here.
Sources told Greater Kashmir that the Omar was briefed about the overall situation in the Valley post Afzal Guru’s hanging. All heads of security agencies were present in the meeting. Soon after the directions, all ministers rushed to their respective headquarters.
Meanwhile, National Conference and Additional General Secretary, Shiekh Mustafa Kamaal blamed separatists for violence in the valley. “Curfew has been imposed in response to shutdown calls called by separatists who are sitting in cozy rooms in Delhi. They want people to die on roads which National Conference won’t allow,” he said.
He said separatists always wanted to instigate violence in the Valley.
