24 houses gutted in massive fire

Kishtwar, Feb 12: In a tragic incident at least twenty-four houses were gutted and several domestic animals killed in a massive fire in Paddar area of this mountainous district, after last midnight.
 Though no human casualties were reported in the blaze - which broke out just before dawn on Tuesday in the remote village of Tun-Ifityan in the district's Atholi belt – around 30 families were left homeless, official sources said.
 Reports reaching here revealed that the fire broke out under mysterious circumstances when most of the villagers were asleep. “Within no time, the fire engulfed the entire village. All the houses were completed gutted in the fire incident. Scores of animal were burnt alive in the blaze,” a local resident informed Greater Kashmir over phone from Gulbgarh. The fire was controlled this morning by locals, he said.
