Funeral prayers in absentia for Guru

Srinagar, Feb 12: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani Tuesday said thousands of people across the Valley offered funeral prayers in absentia for Muhammad Afzal Guru who was hanged at Tihar Jail in New Delhi on Saturday.       
 A TeH spokesman Dr G M Ganai said: “Funeral prayers in absentia were offered in north and south Kashmir. However, Police did not allow people to offer funeral prayers in absentia in Srinagar city.”
 Ganai alleged that Police have arrested scores of Tehreek activists during the past few days.
