Govt party to ‘despicable drama’: Dr Kaul

Srinagar, Feb 4: Terming the raging controversy over the Valley’s All Girls’ Rock Band a conspiracy to demonize the Kashmiri society, senior PDP leader Dr Sameer Kaul Monday accused the state government of becoming a collaborator in the “despicable drama.”
“There seems to be a deep-rooted clandestine collaboration between the ruling party and the antagonists of the rock band to heat-up the issue with a definite design,” Dr Kaul told Greater Kashmir over phone.
He said Kashmir has unique ethos and the Valley and its highly emancipated populace is alien to the culture of decrees being issued on trivial issues like “our daughters singing for fun.”
Dr Kaul said the people who indulge in such “rabble-rousing activities” constitute a miniscule part of Kashmiri population as otherwise majority of the people in the Valley believe in moderation and peaceful co-existence.
He urged the people of Kashmir to exhibit age-old ethos in the present dicey situation and not allow the “mischief-mongers” to take advantage of their innocence.
