Maqbool Bhat symbol of resistance: JKLF
Srinagar, Feb 4: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front acting Chairman Bashir Ahmad Bhat on Monday described late Maqbool Bhat as a symbol of resistance movement.
“He (Bhat) had enlightened the candle of freedom when Kashmiri nation was in deep slumber of
Slavery,” Bhat said while addressing separate meetings of the front workers and leaders at Pulwama and Shopian.
“On February 11 1984 our beloved and sincere leader was hanged and was buried within the premises of Dehli’s Tihar jail,” he added.
A JKLF spokesman said that a meeting of JKLF leaders in connection with the Maqbool
Day was held at party headquarters at Maisuma here. The meeting was presided over by the acting JKLF chairman Bashir Ahmed Bhat it was attended by senior leaders Javaid Ahmed Zargar, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Muhammad Sidiq, Bashir Kashmiri, Javid Ahmad Bhat and Showkat Dar.
