JKLF holds programmes in Islamabad, Pulwama districts

CONDEMNS POLICE RAIDS ON DISTRICT OFFICE

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Feb 6: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Wednesday organized programmes in Islamabad (Anantnag) and Kulgam districts in south Kashmir in connection with 10-day program to pay homage to JKLF founder late Muhammad Maqbool Bhat.
Speaking at these programmes, the JKLF vice-chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat said: “Maqbool Bhat is known as the greatest Martyr and father of Kashmiri nation because of his struggle, sacrifices, wisdom and vision. February 11, is the day when Maqbool Bhat was hanged and buried in Tihar jail Delhi and this day is an important day of our history. This is the day our beloved leader kissed the gallows but refused to budge before the tyrants. His steadfastness and continued struggle for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir remains unparallel.”
Reiterating the call for total shutdown on February 11, Bhat said, “Kashmiris don’t fear jails and gallows. On February 11, we will protest against the continued imprisonment of our beloved leader’s mortal remains in Tihar jail,” he added.
A large number of JKLF leaders and activists, kith and kin of martyrs and other people participated in the programmes.
Meanwhile, JKLF strongly condemned the police raid on Islamabad (Anantnag) district office today, terming it illegal, undemocratic and unjustified action. “Police raided the office before and during the meeting and tried to harass the participants. Police also removed the banners and flags of JKLF from the office,” a JKLF spokesman said.
