‘Recruitment drive in offing for JK youth’
It’ll Help Tackle Problem Of Unemployment: Rather
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Feb 7: Reiterating that the remaining two years of the present dispensation will “turn around” the socio-economic emancipation of Jammu and Kashmir, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Abdur Rahim Rather Thursday said the “main thrust will be on creation of as many job opportunities for the educated youth as possible to tackle the burgeoning unemployment problem.”
He said about 80,000 vacancies will be filled up on fast-track basis through various recruitment agencies in the next fiscal. “The job avenues will also be explored in self-employment sector,” he said, addressing a public gathering, after inaugurating a state-of-art business unit of J&K Bank at Panzan Chadoora in district Budgam on Thursday.
Rather said, “We want to remove gloom, despair and disappointment from the faces of unemployed youth and rekindle hope and happiness in their lives.” “All possible job opportunities will be explored on large scale during the coming days, both in public and private sectors, on war-footing and fast track basis,” he assured. “All the recruitment agencies have been directed to reactivate men and machinery for the proposed employment drive.”
Rather said a transparent mechanism will be put in place to ensure that every eligible aspirant gets adequate opportunity to appear in the interviews and try his luck.
He said given the voluminous figure of about 6 lakh educated unemployment registered with various Employment & Counseling Centers, recruitment of only 80,000 youth will not solve the unemployment problem and the youth shall make their mind for venturing in self-employment avenues to live a dignified life.
He said under Seed Capital Fund (SCF) scheme of SKEWPY about 30 percent capital cost of the project is provided free-of-cost whereas the remaining amount is credited by the J&K Bank at lowest possible interest rates.
Rather cautioned the people against the “sustained misinformation campaign” launched by the political opponents against the coalition government especially NC and its leadership. He said earlier also conspiracies against NC have been hatched both within and outside the State “but the valiant people of the State always defeated their ill-intentions.”
He said NC is the single largest political party “which represents aspirations of the people of all the three regions of the State.” History is testimony that it has always offered supreme sacrifice to uphold the honour, respect and integrity of the State’s people,” he said. “NC has always stood like a rock at all times wherever people of the state were in distress and trouble.”
Without naming BJP and PDP, Rather said that “unnerved with NC’s strong mass base and its growing popularity among the people, enemies again and again tried to create alternate regional parties in the State with the objective to weaken NC by dividing its vote bank.”
