Police arrest 6 gamblers at Botanical garden
Srinagar, Feb 8 : Police on Friday claimed to have arrested six gamblers from Botanical garden in Nishat area here.
Police said acting on specific information and continuous complaints from the locality regarding gambling menace, it conducted a raid at Botanical garden.
A police team led by SHO Police Station Nishat Sunil Kesar (IPS) conducted the raid and caught the six gamblers red-handed and recovered stake money of Rs 3,000 from the accused. The raid was conducted on the directions of SDPO Nehru Park.
“We were receiving constant complaints from the locality that some youth are engaged in gambling in Nishat and its adjusting localities and arrested six gamblers from Botanical garden," said SHO Police Station Nishat Sunil Kesar (IPS).
"These gamblers were actively trying to involve other youth in this unlawful act. Police is making all efforts to curb the menace," the SHO added.
