Samuel flags off ‘PMG walk’

Srinagar, Feb 8: Chief Post Master General (CPMG), J&K Circle, John Samuel on Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir Postal Circle was making rapid progress in every field and has recorded incredible growth in the field of Speed Post and Saving Bank.
 Samuel was interacting with people after flagging off ‘PMG walk’ here at Residency Road.  Accompanied by several officers and a group of postmen, Samuel met customers and visited some business establishments around the GPO. 
 “PMG walk is a concept usually followed in advanced Postal Systems across the world and Jammu and Kashmir is the first State in the country where this concept has been introduced so as to motivate the postmen staff, the brand ambassadors of the department and also to encourage them for their dedication towards their work,” Samuel said.
 He said that J&K Post Office has progressed well in the past year. “And our focus will be to bring more efficiency in the functioning of post offices in every nook and corner of the State this year. Four key strategies like Staff Development Contemporary Post Offices, IT Systems will be further improved soon,” he added
