Srinagar Ski Association to organise skiing camp at Gulmarg
Srinagar Feb 8: The Srinagar District Winter Games Association (SDWGA) is going to organize a Coaching Camp in skiing for local youth at Gulmarg during 3rd week of February that will be followed by Annual Srinagar District Alpine Ski Championship. The event will be conducted under the aegis of Winter Games of Association of J&K and will be supported by the Tourism Department and Gulmarg Development Authority.
The Association has conducted such sporting events in the recent past as well. Scores of Sringarites are expected to take part in this thrilling winter sporting event.

The SDWGA is also planning to launch a ski-touring expedition to Mount Mahadev in March/April this year.
Pertinently the Association has sponsored one such expedition in the year 2000 to Mahadev to explore possibility of introducing ski-touring in the Zabarvan range of Srinagar which was a huge success.
