Srinagar, Feb 8: The Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora on Friday directed the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) authorities to put in all out efforts to bring Srinagar City on tourist map with state-of-the-art facilities.
 Addressing a meeting to review pace of progress of various activities of SDA, the Minister said stressed for bringing socio-economic revolution of the summer capital to ensure prosperity and progress of every citizen of the city.
 The Minister also visited various sites of SDA including prestigious Sangamaal, Regional Bus Stand Pantha Chowk, Habitation Center Bemina and other projects under execution by SDA, besides reviewed development of Rakh-Gundakshah coming up as Satellite Township in Srinagar City.
 The Minister while inspecting Regional Bus Terminal Pantha Chowk, directed Vice-Chairman SDA to make it one of the significant bus terminals of the city with all basic facilities for the passengers.
 While appreciating the revival of prestigious Sangarmaal Shopping Complex by SDA, the Minister said that there is lot of scope to make it an important city center fully equipped with all necessary infrastructure prerequisite for such prestigious Maal.
 He enjoined upon the SDA authorities to work out an extraordinary plan so that target of Sangarmaal could be achieved.
 On the occasion, The Minister interacted with the business community of Sangarmaal and assured them that new directions would be added to complex so that it attracts foreign tourist as well as local people.
 Jora exhorted upon officers to carry out all the projects with great care of transparency and accountability besides utilizing funds judiciously for welfare of the people.
 On the occasion, Vice Chairman SDA, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah apprised the Minister about the functioning, achievements and future plans of SDA through a power-point presentation. He informed that SDA has exceeded the target in revenue realization.
 Renzushah informed the Minister that in the vicinity of Lal Chowk near KMD bus yard, a multi- level parking terminal would be constructed for catering the parking needs in the area. He said that SDA is contemplating to handover the project to ERA authorities after giving a final touch to the project. He also informed that Sheikhbagh and SMG parking yards have been made functional which has mitigated parking problem in the area to a large extent.
 The Minister accompanied by the officers of SDA also visited the composite site of Satellite township at Rakhi Gundakshah area were 4200 kanals stand allotted to SDA for this purpose and various formalities are in progress to develop the area.
 Jora was also visited Habitat Centre Bemina and expressed satisfaction over shifting of all the offices of Housing and Urban Development Department under one roof for the convenience of the people.
 The Minister emphasized to make best use of e-Governance and put information on public domain so that so that people could get information online besides, transparency and accountability should be maintained.
