Ganderbal, Jan 9: Taking the strong note of the news report published in Greater Kashmir about the damage to Lala Sahib bridge, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal today summoned some locals, Sarpanch and district officers and ordered the resumption of work on the said bridge.
Talking to Greater Kashmir Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Hussain said: “The work has been pending since long as some of the local farmers were raising objections. However today I have settled the issue in consultation with the local Sarpanch and other respectable citizens of the area.”
I have also directed the block development officer Ganderbal to resume the work as soon as possible.
“We are very thankful to Greater Kashmir for highlighting this long pending issue and now we hope the bridge would be repaired soon as DC Ganderbal has promised us the work on the bridge connecting more than 8 villages with district headquarter will be resumed,” said local Sarpanch Abdul Ahad Reshi.
Pertinently, Greater Kashmir in its Wednesday edition had carried the news report about Lala sahib bridge that was damaged by flash floods three years back and was awaiting repairs since then.
