Tourist hub inhabitants seek DC’s intervention
Slow pace of drain construction
Srinagar, Jan 10: Inhabitants of tourist hub Dalgate have expressed strong resentment over inordinate delay in construction of a drain there.
A delegation from the area led by president Bazar Committee Dalgate Sharifuddin said the UEED over a fortnight ago dug up the interior lanes from Forensic Science Laboratory to main gate of Chest Diseases hospital.
“Ironically, the pace of work is too slow. The dug up roads pose risk to commuters including patients and tourists. Besides deep trenches near the CD Hospital have even restricted smooth pedestrian movement. Infact, an inhabitant suffered injuries after he slipped into one of the trenches on Wednesday evening,” the delegation said.
“We appeal the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Baseer Khan to look into the matter and directed the concerned department to expedite work on the drain,” they said.
