GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Jan 11: Joint Director, Accounts & Treasuries (Finance Department), Kashmir, Altaf Hassan Mirza today rejected the claim of Jammu and Kashmir Central Coordination Committee of Contractors (JKCCC) on pending liabilities at the treasuries.
In a statement issued here today, Mirza said the claims of the Committee are totally “baseless”.
“All the bills/cheques, received at the treasuries across the state under the head ‘contractors/firms’ and ‘material/supplies’ up to Jan 9 have been cleared in full on Jan 10 including in the Kashmir province,” he said.
Mirza said cheques/bills on account of contractor payments worth only Rs 1.83 crore are pending at the treasuries in Kashmir province as of today.
“The bills/cheques have been received at the treasuries on January 10. In fact, payment worth Rs 205.14 crore has been made during the past 3 days at the treasuries of Kashmir valley under different objects of expenditure, which includes the contractors’ and suppliers’ bills,” he added.
