Div Com inspects Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh flyover site
Directs for speedy rehabilitation of affected shopkeepers
Srinagar, Jan 15: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today inspected flyover site from Jehangir Chowk- Rambagh crossing and other sub projects being executed by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA).
Dr. Samoon took stock of works under execution of Rehabilitation Cum Shopping Complexes being constructed as part of Trench-II of Jammu Kashmir Urban Sector Investment Development Program (JKUSDIP) funded by Asian Development Bank at Rambagh crossing and Jahangir Chowk.
During the visit Divisional Commissioner was informed that at Jehangir Chowk Rehabilitation cum shopping complex, the construction work of 90 shops in first floor and 30 godowns including car parking facility in basement have been completed and are ready for being handed over to the affected shopkeepers of Jehangir Chowk shortly.
Divisional Commissioner was also apprised that at Rambagh crossing, 51 shops in Rehabilitation cum shopping complex would be completed by the end of April for accommodating the affected shopkeepers of Rambagh area.
The Divisional Commissioner directed for speedy completion of the projects related to shopping complexes so that the area gets face lift and affected business community is properly accommodated in a time bound manner.
He also emphasized for judicious utilization of funds allotted and also ensure quality work to be executed by the concerned agencies.
