Sarovar Hotels forays into Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 15: One of the leading names in the hospitality sector, Sarovar Hotels has tied up with Royal Khazir Hotels and Resorts Private Limited in Srinagar city.
The City Forest Hotel owned by the Khazir group will now be renamed as Sarovar Portico. It will be group’s first hotel in Jammu and Kashmir.
Managing Director, Khazir Group, Saddam Zaroo told Greater Kashmir that the hotel will be refurbished and launched by May 2013.
“We will now work under the tag ‘Sarvovar group’. They will provide us management, infrastructure and technical expertise,” Zaroo said.
He said this will be the Sarovar group’s first hotel in Srinagar which will cater to the growing number of tourists visiting the picturesque Valley.
"We are currently having a systematic upgradation of our facilities and amenities to meet the four star standards. We are soon going to start human resource training and 99 per cent of our staff will be Kashmiris,” he said.
