Cabinet to meet today
Jammu, Jan 21: For the first time after recent reshuffle and expansion of the council of ministers, state cabinet will be meeting here at Civil Secretariat tomorrow.
Official sources said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be chairing the cabinet meeting, which is more or less expected to be introductory for the new members in the council of ministers.
“There is no major agenda for the meeting”, a senior cabinet minister told Greater Kashmir adding, “This is for the first time that the cabinet is meeting after the recent reshuffle as such it will be introductory in nature”.
The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held last week but was cancelled at the last moment.
Sources claimed that IAS officer, Sonali Kumar, who recently returned from the central deputation is expected to get promoted to the higher scale, while two officials of Chief Minister’s secretariat retiring this month may get extension in their services.
Reshuffle in the police department was also due, especially after recent promotion of some top ranking officers. However, sources said that any reshuffle in police administration is expected only after January 27.
