3 months on, Bla village reels under darkness
ALTAF BABA
Baramulla, Jan 23: Residents of Gowhan Laddi Jungle in this north Kashmir district are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for its failure to repair a transformer even after three months.
A delegation of residents of the area told Greater Kashmir that the transformer developed some snag in November last year. Since then our area has been reeling under darkness. The delegation said that PDD officials recently told them that transformer would not be restored in the area as huge amount of electricity bill is pending against the residents of the area.
When contacted the Executive Engineer Power Development Baramulla Irshad Ahmad said that he is unaware about the matter. However, he assured that he would look in to the matter.
