Srinagar, Jan 23: In connection with Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations, the Traffic department has finalized traffic route plan to ensure smooth movement of vehicles to and fro Dargah Hazratbal.
Addressing the meeting, the Superintendent of Police Traffic City, Haseeb-ur-Rehman said the department has made elaborate arrangements to ensure hassle free and safe travel of devotees from their respective localities to Dargah Hazratbal.
He said that from January 25 to February 1, the Traffic Police department will allow movement of buses from SRTC bridge to Hazratbal via Ikhwan Crossing, Police Station Khanyar, Bohri Kadal, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwara Chowk, Hawal, Shree Bhat, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan and Lal Bazar.
The SP said devotees of various districts of the Valley which include Baramulla, Kupwara, Handwara, Bandipora and Budgam shall be provided the route passing through Tengpora Bye Pass, Bemina Bye Pass, Qamarwari, Cement Bridge, Noor Bagh, Eidgah Crossing, Alamgari Bazar, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan, Lal Bazar and finally the Dargah Hazratbal,
Similarly the SP said devotees of Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Awantipora shall proceed to Dargah Hazratbal via Pantha Chowk, Sonwar, Gupkar, Foreshore Road and Nishat.
The SP on return, the buses carrying the devotees of Lal Chowk, Budgam, Baramulla and Kupwara shall ply via National Institute of Technology, Ashai Bagh Crossing, Rainawari, Khalifapora, Nowpora bridge and Khayam Chowk (right).
However, he said the buses heading towards North Kashmir will be diverted at Khalifapora towards Peer Dastgeer Sahib (RA) Khanyar, Sumkachbal, Police Station Khanyar, Nalamar road and Qamarwari for their respective destinations.
Similarly, the SP said on return the vehicles bound for Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Awantipora shall have to follow Foreshore Nishat, Gupkar, Sonwar Bazar and Pantha Chowk route respectively.
“I appeal people to strictly adhere to the traffic route to ensure smooth flow of traffic,” the SP said.
