DGP reviews arrangements at Hazratbal
Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations
Srinagar, Jan 24: Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Prasad visited Dargah Hazratbal on Thursday evening and took stock of security, traffic and parking arrangements put in place for the devotees during the Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations.
On the occasion, the DGP directed the officers to ensure one way traffic strictly on the urs days and the Friday following. He inspected police camps established in and around the Shrine and was briefed about the steps taken for smooth and peaceful congregations. He discussed various steps with regard to security and other arrangements made by police with the authorities of Waqaf Board
The DGP also interacted with devotees and managers of various camps set up by NGOs and other government departments to get first hand appraisal about the arrangements.
The DGP was accompanied by IGPs S. M. Sahai and Muneer Ahmed Khan, DIGs, S. A. Watali, Syed Afadul Mujtaba, besides SSP Srinagar Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari and SSP Security, Rafiq-ul-Hassan.
