JK Bank sponsors Santosh Trophy team kit
Srinagar, Jan 24: For the first time in the history of JK football team,JK Bank would be sponsoring the team’s Santosh trophy kit for the upcoming event.
The 22-member JK team would be leaving for Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh for their Santosh Trophy campaign on January 28. The team would be playing its first match on February 2 against Rajasthan while in second match will lock horns against Assam on February 4. In its third match, JK will be against Daman and Diu on February 6.
In the premier national level football event, JK team will be sporting JK Bank kit. It is for the first time that State football team for Santosh Trophy event has been sponsored by any agency.
“After coming to know that JK team all these years have not found any sponsor to sponsor their kit for such a big event, we decided to step in,” said JK Bank Executive President and Chairman Sports Board Taffazul Hussain.
“Our team has also been doing reasonably well in Santosh Trophy and they deserve special attention,” he added.
J&K Football Association (JKFA) President, Zamir Ahmad Thakur said, “We are thankful to JK Bank Sports Board headed by, Taffazul Hussain, Abdul Hamid Banday and Showkat Khanyari for coming forward to sponsor JK team Santosh trophy kit”.
“In the whole event JK team will be playing in JK Bank sponsored jersey having its logo printed on it. It will be honour for our players to have special kit for the big national level event. It will boost their morale naturally,” he added.
