Srinagar, Mar 9: A local court here Saturday remanded 11 youth to police custody and sent a minor to Juvenile Home on various criminal charges including rioting and unlawful assembly.
City Munsiff Feroz Ahmad khan sent a juvenile Aamir Ali Hakeem to Juvenile Home Harwan for 10 days after cops from Nowhatta police station produced him before the court for remand.
After perusing the case history of the accused, the court observed that Aamir was a minor and directed that he be sent to the custody of superintendent Juvenile Home Harwan for 10 days.
The court also sent four youth—Javid Nazir son of Ghulam Nabi, Sahil Zahoor son of Zahoor Ahmad, Umar Gulzar Bhat son of Gulzar Ahmad of Khanyar, Sajad Ahmad Mir—all residents of Khanyar to the police remand after sleuths of Khanyar Police Station produced them before the court.
Police Station Nowhatta has registered a case ( FIR 14 of 2013) against the accused under various criminal sections including 148 ( rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 336 ( endangering life and safety of others), 332 (Violence causing hurt to public servant during his duty), and 307 (attempt to murder).
The court also remanded seven youth to police custody after sleuths of police stations Zakura and Maharaj Gunj produced them before it seeking further their custody.
Police has registered cases against the seven accused under various criminal sections including rioting and unlawful assembly of RPC.
