After neighborhood house, Burglars strike Bemina shop
SYED IMRAN ALI HAMDANI
Srinagar, Mar 9: Burglars last night struck a shop in Bemina locality of south City but couldn’t flee with goods because of the timely action of the locals who woke up and raised alarm, reports and witnesses Saturday said. This is the second incident in the area within four months.
In the latest, the burglars last night managed to open the shop of Rafiq Ahmed Khan outside his house, by using duplicate keys. “They had taken out lot of goods and were about to take it away but their attempt was foiled by the alert locals,” Khan said.
“They (burglars) had not broken any locks but used duplicate keys hinting that they were well versed with the crime,” the shopkeeper added.
He said last year on December 28 burglars had sneaked into house of his brother Nazir Ahmed Khan who lives in the adjacent house. “That time a inverter and (cooking) gas cylinder were stolen,” Rafiq said.
Meanwhile the locals have appealed the Inspector General of Police SM Sahai to look into the matter.
