Jawahir Nagar post office reopens to chaos
SYED IMRAN ALI HAMDANI
Srinagar, Mar 9: After four days of chaos and curfew, the Post Office Jawahir Nagar reopened to put customers to inconvenience as they could not avail the Speed Post facility, the complainants said.
A delegation of customers said they had a tough time traveling from one post office to another to dispatch their posts as the Jawahir Nagar branch was not offering the service due to “shortage of resources”.
“We were told that the Post Office doesn’t have the bar code stock available...What can we do,” the complainants quoted the staffers as having said.
“Going to Post Office Raj Bagh was inconvenient as the road has been dug up for drainage construction,” they added.
Despite repeated attempts the Post Office officials could not be contacted for comments.
Meanwhile people have appealed Chief Post Master General, John Samuel to keep such facilities available at all the post offices in “these times of uncertainty.”
