Use PAS, play patriotic numbers against concert
Aasiya Andrabi to people of Shalimar
Srinagar, Sep 5: Chairperson, Dukhtaran-e-Milat, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi Thursday appealed the people living in Shalimar and its adjacent areas to make use of public address systems (PAS) and raise pro-Kashmir slogans “so that the ambassadors of European Union would come to know about the real aspirations of people of Kashmir.”
She said that people “should play patriotic numbers and raise anti-India slogans before, during and after the musical concert at Shalimar.”
Addressing a press conference at her Soura residence, Aasiya Andrabi said that Zubin Mehta” is one of Zionists who is in the good books of Israel. “It is an absurd claim that Mehta is enchanting the oppressed lot in Palestine as well by his music. Wherever he (Zubin Mehta) performed in Palestine, people protested there and vehemently demanded his departure from the area. We all should know that Zubin Mehta is the Director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Israel is the country responsible for the killing of innocent Muslims,” Andrabi claimed.
She said that Zubin Mehta “is the beloved of Israel and the biggest thing is that he is pursuing the ideology of Isreal.”
“Zubin Mehta is arriving here with a purpose and this musical concert is not politically viable for Kashmir. Even, Islam does not permit such type of concerts,” she said adding that DeM supports the parallel concert organized by Civil Society of Kashmir. “I appeal these Civil Society people to organize the concert within the ambit of Islam,” she said.
Andrabi lamented that “clerics did not play a positive role and did nothing to make people aware about the ugly impact of the musical concert.”
“Society expects a greater role from Clerics and religious organization but they failed to deliver the goods. I appeal people especially those living in Shalimar and its adjacent areas to make full use of public address systems and express concern about the Concert,” she said.
While replying to a question, Andrabi said that “it is unfortunate that separatist leaders fail to arrive at consensus on a particular issue.” However, she said, DeM supports the strike call given by Syed Ali Geelani against the musical concert on Saturday. (CNS)
