Nizamuddin concerned over delay in project completion

Senior PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat has expressed concern over the inordinate delay in completion of pending projects in Bandipora.

In a statement, he recalled how after struggle of decades, Bandipora was accorded district status and in follow up various governments provided funds for infra-structure building in various key sectors. “However,  executing agencies failed to meet the time line and the area continues to lag behind.”

Bhat said funds for raising district hospital building, power grid station, bus stand, town electricity management under APDRP, tourism management, Wular management, NHPC funds for local hospital at Sonarwani and Madumati nallah, Tribal sub-plan have yielded nothing except pilferage and half done works which now suffer from cost-escalation.

He said similarly, the funds provided under flood- management, horticulture development, forest conservation, public health, sports, sanitation, environment and conservation have made little  change and development scenario remains dismal in the area.

Bhat appealed chief minister to call status report on alleged bungling and misappropriation for immediate corrective action. He also appealed for speedy utilisation of funds for Srinagar- Bandipore road, which has cost dear to district population eversince the money provided by NHPC for road building that went heywire.
