36 persons booked in bovine smuggling cases

 

Ramban, Jan 16: Police has rescued 356 bovine animals and 36 cases have been registered in the last four weeks in Ramban district.

   

Police sources said on the directions of SSP Mohita Sharma to curb the bovine smuggling police teams of Police Stations Batote, Chanderkote, Ramban, Ramsoo and Banihal intercepted 35 different types of vehicles that were heading towards Srinagar from Jammu

They said during checking all the vehicles were found loaded with three hundred fifty-five (355) bovine animals.

They further said all these animals were kept with utmost cruelty under unhygienic conditions, without any arrangements for food and water.

Besides these one bovine animal was being transported illegally towards Kashmir on foot.
