Ramban, May 25: Two persons including a Special Police Officer, (SPO) died after a van in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Banjar, Chuchatter area of Kashtigagh, Doda.
Police sources said an Eco van bearing registrationJK06B- 2326 on its way to Chuchatter from Kashtigarh skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Banjor, Chuchattar, area of Kashtigarh as a result of which two persons sustained critical injuries.
On getting information from locals, a Police team from the Police Post, Kashtigarh rushed to the spot and shifted critically injured persons to Associated Government Medical College and Hospital Doda. However, one person identified as the driver of the vehicle succumbed in an ambulance whereas SPO succumbed at Government Medical College and Hospital.
Police said the deceased SPO was posted at the Police Post, Kashtigarh and was heading towards his native place Chuchatter when this accident happened in the Banjar area ahead of Chuchatter.
