Ramban, Nov 25: A woman was killed, while her husband sustained critical injuries when the roof of their Kachha house collapsed at Pattangagh area of Latti tehsil of Udhampur district during the wee hours of this morning.
Official sources said they were in deep sleep when the roof of their house collapsed and fell on their bed. The woman died on the spot, while her husband sustained serious injuries
Police sources said that this morning at around 4 am an information was received at Police Station Latti that house belonging to Des Raj son of Mansu resident of Pattangarh Latti collapsed at 4 am due to the sudden breakage of a wooden log . The woman, Anju Devi died, while her husband Rattan Lal sustained grievous injuries.
On getting information a Police team from Police Station Latti reached the spot and launched a rescue operation with the help of locals. They retrieved the body of the deceased and shifted it to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Latti for conducting postmortem and other legal formalities.
They said the injured was removed to health facility, wherefrom he was referred to Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Udhampur.
