Srinagar, June 11: Chairman of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO), Manzoor Wangnoo has urged people to desist from dumping hides and offals of sacrificial animals in water bodies during upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.

“People must act responsibly to preserve our lakes and rivers. The commend stakeholders from Khushalsar, Gilsar, Zadibal, and Sazgaripora for their vigilant efforts from the last few years to prevent disposal of sacrificial animal waste in these water bodies. Their dedication is vital to maintaining the cleanliness and health of our environment,” Wangnoo said.

“People must coordinate with designated officials from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) or the J&K Lake Conservation & Management Authority (LC&MA) for proper waste disposal. Alternatively, NLCO volunteers are available to assist with the collection of animal hides. On this Eid al-Adha, let us all commit to protecting our water bodies and ensuring they remain clean and safe for future generations,” he added.
