Srinagar, May 26: Residents of Sumkachbal area of Khanyar in Downtown here have demanded frequent cleaning of drains in the locality.
A delegation from the area said that due to frequent blockage of drains, a pungent smell engulfs the locality amid rising temperatures. They said the area houses many poultry and mutton shops and their waste also mixes with the common drainage system. This results in blocking of drains and the emanation of a pungent smell. We appeal to concerned authorities to frequent ensure cleaning of drains and sanitation in the locality,” they said.
