Millatabad residents decry power outages

Srinagar, June 12: Residents of Millatabad area of Peerbagh have complained of unscheduled power cuts in the locality for the last several days.

A delegation from the area said that despite being fully metered, they face power outages. “We face immense problems due to unscheduled power cuts in this scorching temperature,” said a resident.

“For patients who are dependent on Oxygen concentrators, unscheduled power cuts can pose serious risks to their lives. I faced a tough time as my inverter battery was exhausted due to long power cuts and I could not operate Oxygen concentrator for my ailing mother. I had to hurriedly arrange an oxygen cylinder to save the life of my mother. I wonder why PDD is resorting to unscheduled power cuts?,” lamented a resident.

The aggrieved residents appealed Chief Engineer KPDCL to direct the concerned to supply electricity as per schedule.
