Prof Shafi Shauq releases 3 books in Kashmiri language

Srinagar, Aug 18: In a significant literary event on Sunday at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Kashmiri poet and literary figure, Professor Shafi Shauq, unveiled three of his latest works: Nund, Lal, and Kashmiri Sufi Poetry.

The books, written in  Kashmiri language, reflect Professor Shauq’s deep engagement with the region’s literary heritage.

   

Published by renowned Srinagar-based publishing house, Ali Mohammad and Sons, these new releases add to Professor Shauq’s prolific body of work, which already includes over 45 books. Known for his contributions to Kashmiri literature, Prof Shauq has been honoured with numerous national and state accolades, including the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award.

The book launch event was graced by several eminent personalities, including Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Managing Director of Ali Mohammad and Sons, his brother Mir Zaffar, social activist for former PRO of J&K Bank Farooq Ashai, and prominent writer Mukhtar Ahmed. They hailed the contribution of Prof Shauq in promotion of Kashmiri language.
