Educational activities related to World No Tobacco Day organised at DPS Budgam

Budgam, May 31: Delhi Public School (DPS) Budgam joined educational institutions across Kashmir in observing World No Tobacco Day today.

In line with the initiative spearheaded by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), DPS Budgam declared the day as ‘No Bag Day’ to emphasise the importance of a tobacco-free life.

Students from classes 11 and 12 participated in a series of informative sessions where they were educated about the ill effects of tobacco use.

The activities were part of a broader campaign to protect children from the harmful influences of the tobacco industry, resonating with this year’s theme, “protecting children from tobacco industry’s interference.”

The day featured an array of events designed to raise awareness including seminars, discussions, and interactive sessions. These activities were aimed to foster a supportive environment where students could learn about healthy lifestyles in a relaxed setting free from the usual academic pressures.

The initiative was well received by students and staff alike, highlighting the importance of preventive healthcare and the need to educate young people about the dangers of tobacco and substance abuse.
