GMS Onagam observes World No Tobacco Day

Bandipora, May 31: The No Tobacco Day was fervently observed at GMS Onagam where students and faculty came together to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of tobacco use.

The event held under the esteemed patronage of Medical Officer Dr Shabana Khan, resonated with impassioned calls to combat the scourge of tobacco consumption.

In her eloquent presidential address, Dr Shabana Khan talked at length about the perils of tobacco use, urging students to become ambassadors of change by championing the cause of a tobacco-free lifestyle within their own homes. Her impassioned plea underscored the crucial role that each individual can play in fostering a healthier, tobacco-free environment.

The distinguished educator and Head of Institution, Javaid Jawad, captivated the audience with his profound insights into the value of life as a sacred gift. Drawing from his vast experience as an award-winning teacher, he elucidated how the use of tobacco and other intoxicants not only imperils life but also inflicts severe economic strain on families.
