Islamia College organises Yoga event

Srinagar, June 22: Islamia College Srinagar celebrated International Day of Yoga (IDY) bringing together students, staff and yoga enthusiasts for a day dedicated to wellness, mindfulness, and unity.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation.

   

The celebration commenced early hours with an inspiring address by NSS officers, ANO, NCC officers, and senior professors who emphasised the significance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Following the inaugural address, certified yoga instructors led participants through a series of yoga sessions, including traditional asanas, pranayama, and meditation practices.

Media Secretary Islamia College, Syed A Untoo said the event concluded with a collective meditation session, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

Prof Nusrat, Prof Haneef, and Prof Rafeeq said that the goal of the programme was to inspire a healthier lifestyle and encourage the practice of yoga as a means to achieve balance and harmony.

“We remain committed to promoting health and wellness through such initiatives and look forward to more events in the future,” they said.
