Srinagar, June 9: Students have expressed concern over the presence of a large number of stray dogs in the Kashmir University campus.

“Scores of university students have faced dog attacks over the years. Due to the presence of stray dogs we face problems to move around in the campus. Those students and scholars who leave the campus in late hours cannot go out without company, “said Tahir Ahmed, a student at KU.

They said KU playground and Naseem Bagh side are full of packs of dogs.

“We have to ensure that someone accompanies us due to fear of dogs,” said a female student.

The hostel boarders said that they usually venture out during evening hours for their work. “However, stray dogs chase us in the campus. Now we have to move out in large groups to save ourselves from dog attacks. We hope that KU authorities will take serious note of it and takes measures to prevent presence of stray dogs in the campus,” said a group of hostel boarders.
