Follow Janta Curfew: Div Com

Divisional commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang Kondbarao Pole, today appealed people to cooperate as there will be strict restrictions across Kashmir on Sunday in view of the Janta Curfew announced by the prime minister.

“That is beneficial for the people,” Pole said at a jointpress conference with IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.

   

He said that restrictions across valley will continue almosttill end of this month.

“More points for sample collection in Kashmir are on cards.We have two testing laboratories and there is no need to send samples outsidefor testing,” Pole said.

He said that screening mechanism has also been strengthened.”There are only two ways from where people enter Kashmir, highway and airport,”he said, adding that now hundred precent screening is done at both the places.

He added that now if anybody hides his travel details, hewill likely to have undergo a jail term.

The senior administration official said that the woman whowas tested positive for Covid-19 had recorded her history at the airport andshe was advised home quarantine by the doctors. “Now she is stable,” he saidand denied any VIP interference in bringing her out from the airport. “The dayshe landed at the airport, home quarantine was the only prescription forforeign travel.”

He also said that quarantine centres are now almost fullyequipped. “In case there is influx of patients, homes can be changed intoquarantine centres,” he said.

IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, said, “We have decided to enforcestrict curfew on Sunday.”
