Massive CASO underway in Reasi, Rajouri

Rajouri, June 11: Dozens of special operational teams of security forces continued a search operation for the third consecutive day on Tuesday in dense woods of Reasi and Rajouri districts to track terrorists involved in an attack on a bus carrying Shiv Khori pilgrims.

Nine persons, including seven pilgrims, bus driver and conductor, lost their lives in this deadly attack while forty three pilgrims, mostly from UP, Rajasthan and Delhi were injured.

   

A massive anti-terror operation was launched after this deadly attack while over a dozen people were detained for questioning.

Official sources said that the area, where the attack took place as well as surrounding areas falling in Reasi district and adjoining area of Teryath in Rajouri district, were having dense forest cover.

In Reasi district areas, officials said, a number of operation teams were in forests conducting combing operations to track attackers.

These teams comprised army, police and CAPF personnel.

In Rajouri district areas also, which share a boundary with Reasi district, where the attack took place, a massive combing operation is going on.

They said that dozens of special teams of forces were conducting extensive search operations in forest areas as well as other gorges.

Senior officers of police and paramilitary forces as well as army were leading these operations.

“Meanwhile, around fifteen people belonging to different areas have been questioned by forces so far while questioning from some others, living in areas adjoining the attack site, is still going on,” officials said.
