New Delhi, June 30: The Centre assigned additional charges of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training to Union Home Secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
The government approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training to Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
The Home Secretary would assume charge of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training upon the superannuation of S Radha Chauhan IAS on June 30, 2024, and till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Bhalla assumed the office as Union Home Secretary on August 23, 2019, succeeding Rajiv Gauba and has served as the Union Home Secretary for around five years.
He is a senior IAS officer of 1984 batch from Assam Meghalaya (AM) cadre.
Bhalla hails from Jalandhar, Punjab.
