Anti-terror operation continues in villages of Reasi, Rajouri, 3 more detained

Rajouri, June 24: The anti terror operations of security forces in villages of Reasi and Rajouri districts continued on Monday for a manhunt of attackers involved in June 9 attack on bus carrying pilgrims.

Three more people have also been detained by security forces for questioning.

   

On June 9, terrorists believed to be three in number, ambushed a bus carrying Shiv Khori pilgrims at Kanda Morh in Reasi and the bus fell into a gorge after terrorists’ firing with nine people including seven pilgrims as well as driver and conductor of bus losing their lives while fourty three pilgrims got injured who all were hospitalised.

Massive anti terror operations were launched after this attack in areas of Reasi as well as in villages of Rajouri district that border the Reasi district portion where the attack had happened.

These anti terror operations have been going on for the last fifteen days with joint teams of Army, Police and CAPF conducting the operation in order to track the terrorists who attacked the bus.

On the other hand, police in Reasi have detained three more people for questioning under these operations.

Trio belong to areas of Rajouri district villages that border with areas of Reasi district.

The detained people have been taken into custody by police for questioning.

Official sources said the trio will be questioned for any information related to the presence of terrorists and their movement in the area.

Security forces on Monday afternoon also conducted searches in areas of Udhampur district after reports of suspicious movement in the area.

Official sources said that over some reports of suspicious movement in the area of Karlah Udhampur near Patnitop, security forces launched searches in the area that were still going on.
