Cold Desert Turns Hot

Kargil, July 28: The cold desert Ladakh continued to witness severe hot day conditions on Sunday, with Chuchot in Leh recording a maximum temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius while Kargil sizzled at 37.5 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, Chuchot in Leh recorded a maximum temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 20.2 degrees Celsius.

   

Kargil district recorded a maximum temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 19.2 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, Leh recorded a maximum temperature of 33.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius.

Drass recorded a maximum temperature of 30.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 12.9 degrees Celsius.

The authorities had already announced summer vacations in all government and private educational institutions across Kargil district from July 22 to August 8.
