Jammu, Aug 13: An encounter started on Tuesday between the security forces and terrorists in the Assar forests of the Doda district, which is located next to the famous Patnitop tourist site.
Officials said that over specific information about the presence of some suspected terrorists in the Assar area, an operation was launched jointly by the Army and Police during which contact with the terrorists was established and an encounter started.
Confirming details, the Army said that the Army and Police teams launched an operation based on specific intelligence inputs in Asar Forest near Patnitop.
“Contact has been established with the terrorists and an operation is in progress,” the Army said.
