Srinagar, Sep 01: The administration on Sunday placed a government employee on suspension after he was found violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Srinagar today.

The order issued in this regard reads that “one Government employee namely Ghulam Mohammad Mir posted as Jr. Lineman in KPDCL has been found violating the MCC guidelines by participating and facilitating the political party meetings”.

   

The order further reads that ‘the said employee has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.”

The Model Code of Conduct is a set of guidelines issued by Election Commission of India to provide a level playing field in favour of all political parties.

District Election Officer, Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat has issued instructions for strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct and dealing strictly with any violation by any employees which comes to the notice of the authorities, the order said.
