Sopore, June 24: An inmate from Sopore who was injured during a gas cylinder blast in Kupwara sub jail has succumbed on Monday morning.
An official said that on June 19 at least nine inmates were injured in the Kupwara jail explosion.
He said that all injured were shifted to hospital and among them one succumbed on Monday morning.
Deceased has been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, resident of Dangerpora Zaingeer Sopore who according to police was involved in case FIR no 04/2024 PS Tarzoo u/s 8/21,22,29 NDPS Act.
The explosion was said to be a cooking gas cylinder blast even as further investigation is going on.
