PM likely to attend 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas anniversary on July 26 in Ladakh

Srinagar, July 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Ladakh on July 26 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

According to an official announcement, this significant event will be celebrated at Drass in the Kargil district from July 24 to 26.

   

Lt Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Retd) B D Mishra, overseeing preparations for the PM’s visit, convened a crucial meeting at the Lt Governor’s Secretariat to finalise arrangements for the occasion.

The official spokesman said that Modi’s visit to the Kargil War Memorial at Drass would be the highlight of the celebrations. During the meeting, discussions focused on security protocols and reception procedures at the Drass helipad, arrangements for the PM’s motorcade, and the details of the wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial.

The preparation of the green room at the helipad was also reviewed.

The LG sought updates from Major General Sachin Malik, General Officer Commanding of the 8 Mountain Division, regarding the helipad arrangements.

Mishra directed that all arrangements be completed promptly and efficiently.

He also plans to visit the Kargil War Memorial on July 24 to oversee the final preparations. The schedule includes a wreath-laying ceremony, a visit to the ‘Shaheed Marg’ (Wall of Fame), and a tour of the Kargil War Museum.
