Amarnath Yatra | Police seek cooperation of service providers to ensure hassle-free services

Ganderbal, June 6: To ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience to tourists and yatris, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ganderbal district sought cooperation and better services from service providers amid the ongoing tourism season and during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Sandeep Gupta Thursday met various service providers including hoteliers, traders, market association, cab stand association, and pony-porters association at JKTDC’s conference hall in Sonamarg.

   

SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan and SHO Police Station Sonamarg, Zahoor Ahmed also attended the meeting.

An official said that during the meeting, a threadbare discussion took place with all the stakeholders for providing the best possible facility to the tourists and yatris by displaying fair rates of services and products. SSP Ganderbal also sought cooperation from all the hoteliers of Sonamarg for providing a helping hand and assistance to tourists and yatris in case of any eventuality.

Furthermore, the cab association also promised smooth movement of the yatris.

Moreover, pony-porters were also briefed not to indulge in any unfair means and to follow rates fixed by the administration during the Amarnath Yatra.

All the stakeholders were asked to provide a safe, clean, and cheating-free environment to the tourists and Amarnath Yatris.
