Srinagar, May 3: A delegation from the International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO), led by Zonal Coordinator Altaf Bhat, alongside Mohammad Yaqoob Dunoo, Media Incharge, and Ishfaq Khan, Co-Coordinator of Tourism, convened today with Dr Deeba Khalid, Deputy Director Tourism (Publicity) Dr. Mantasha, Deputy Director Tourism (Administration) to discuss new technologies and techniques in tourism development with a particular focus on the Wullar Lake project.

The meeting culminated in plans for a grand mega event scheduled to take place on the banks of Wullar Lake on June 5th coinciding with World Environment Day and the anniversary of IHRO. This event aims to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable tourism practices.

   

Among the key points discussed was the implementation of a single-window system for home stay registrations during the mega event, streamlining the process for participants and visitors alike.

“We are thrilled to host this significant event on such a symbolic day,” stated Altaf Bhat, Zonal Coordinator of IHRO. “By bringing together stakeholders from various sectors, we hope to foster dialogue and collaboration towards the preservation of our natural resources.”

The mega event promises to be a milestone in promoting eco-friendly tourism and fostering community engagement in the conservation efforts around Wullar Lake.
